7-8 month old veiled

im worried my cham is not eating the amount he's supposed to eat.


approximately how much should a 7-8 month old veiled cham be eating....just throw out any ideas.

he's eating 2-3 inch hornworm almost daily. (1 worm) is that ok?

I'd say around 8-10 feeders a day. What are you feeding him besides hornworms? 1 worm a day is not enough!

thats all he wants to eat....i got hornworms....superworms and crickets....


i feed him one 3 inch hornworm and what else should he eat.....

At 7-8 months chameleons appetite can begin to decrease. You can start to feed every other day to see if he will then eat more feeders that way.

i havnt fed him crickets in about a month...im going to try feeding him crickets tomorrow and see if hell go for them....

should i just throw the crickets in the cage and leave them or feed him one by one??

Depends. Some people like to hand and cupfeed their chams to gain "trust". Others like to free range their crickets.

YA.....suppose i want to use the free range method....how many crickets should i put in there before i expect the cham to eat them all?

i came back from work at night...cham was about to sleep..i gave him some crickets and he ate 6. I'm sure he would have ate at least 12 for the entire day. i think he missed the crickets....i put them in calcium powder as well so thats good. i hope he keeps up 10 crickets daily and he would be fine..... he took some crickets out of my hand i might add

My 7-8 month old Cham also is going through a weird no cricket phase! He’s only been eating horn worms and mean worms. I think he’s used to eating the grasshoppers outside and wants those instead ?

This thread is 9 years old. However, here’s some info on feeders that should help you. If you need any help, just start a new thread.

Feed in the morning, not when hes about to go to sleep... That way he gave digest his meal in the sun.
