I have had my Panther Chameleon Albert since July and for the first month he ate very well and all was fine. In August he stopped eating his locusts for a couple weeks and he also wasn't too interested in the odd meal worm or wax worms either.
After a vet visit he was found to have slightly thin bones and had an injection of calcium and electrolytes and i have since endeavored to up the dusting. He began to eat again and shed very well but now a week or so later he has stopped again!!!! His temps are all fine, i have 3 thermometers to monitor this, i mist him a few times every day and i just don't understand why he was fine for a month and has now stopped eating.

Can anyone help me shed any light on this because it's so frustrating and i'm really worried i'm doing something wrong!!!

Glad you visited the VET :) Does you panther get natural sunlight at all? All my chams completly stopped eating crickets. TH eonly thing they toutch is meal worms atm its spring now. They seem to eat like beasts when they out in the warm sun.

I'm in the UK so it's coming to the end of summer now. The room he's in does get alot of natural light but it's been cold so no direct sunlight. How will this help?

It's the end of summer nearly now in the UK and it's been a bit cold. The room he's in get's a lot of natural light but not directly. Will more direct sunshine help him start eating again?

He seems about the age when they become bored with the same old food! Mine stopped eating crickets at about 8 months or so and still refuses them to this day. Once in a great while he will eat them. I keep trying! As long as you have had him to the vet, I would chalk it up to food boredom. Try some flying feeders like moths or something.

Like Carol said, there a good chance he is bored of his food, try ordering a few different variety's, moth's and dubia's are a good start. Good luck and keep us updated.

You said..."His temps are all fine"...what temperature is "fine"??
How old is the chameleon? Male or female? (I know you said its name is Albert, but I just wanted to be sure.)
How big are the food items you are offering it?
Are its eyes open all day?

Vitamin D deficiency

When you took the chameleon to the vet and they provided a shot was it because of vitamin d deficiency? If this is the case then you need to start providing either natural sunlight or replace you uvb bulbs because more than likely the uvb output is not enough for the chameleon to process enough d3. Often this can cause the chameleon to stress and eventually quit eating.
