a few questions

Chameleon crazy

New Member
My veiled cham. is 8 in. Not a hard time at all getting her to eat fruit and vegetables.;)

1) How much and how often should I offer a vegetable salad?

2) Should I offer my cham. fruit once or twice per week?

3) How many crickets should salad and fruit replace?

Thank you!:)

Well, I feed my chameleon only once a week with fruit (never vegetables). and it´s like a one stripe of a small orange, banana or an apple or half of a grape... very small pieces because chameleon isn´t a vegetarian and this should be only diversifying his meals- so I guess it´s instead of three adult crickets. Some chameleons never eat fruit and they´re pretty healthy...

You can feed them dandelion greens, kale, collards, endive, escarole, mustard greens, strips of sweet red pepper, thin slivers of carrot, sweet potato, and squash, thin wedges of apple, pear, melon or even berries....and more! Vary the
"salad" as often as possible. The good thing about it is that whatever the chameleon doesn't eat the crickets can!

They will also eat leaves from pothos plants, hibiscus and other plants...just be sure any plants you put in their cages are non-toxic and well-washed...both sides of the leaves.

Some of mine will pass up crickets when the "salad" comes.
