A little thread of love for a fellow reptile

While Nachito no longer blesses me with her presence, I still want to share another scaled family member that I’m lucky enough to live with and learn about.

My roommate has this spunky little Crested Gecko named Pizza Crust. She is a hungry little monster and constantly stairs at us with her large googly eyes.

I hope everyone and their scaled baby’s are doing well and thriving

How adorable!!! I love the name too. the kids at my local pet shop were trying to get me to go with a crestie when I was setting up my carpet enclosure, lol it was funny and now I’m like ya know cresties are cute!!! But they have potential to live a long time and it’s a commitment! (Says the granny who recently got a parsons chameleon) I was looking for a shorter lifespan creature to fill my first bioactive enclosure build so the carpet cham won over the crestie. Pizza crust is super cool and I hear they have quite a personality, sort of.

Agreed! She’s about 2 1/2 years old, so my roommate should have her for years to come! It’s really interesting learning how her possible laying behaviors compared to chameleons! But yes, she has a personality, not necessarily sassy like Nachito was, but we call her a little monster because of how high her prey drive to toward silkworms (she’s bitten my roommate a few times thinking he was moving food lol)

Pizza Crust is a cutie! Your college did quite well in matching up room mates. Back when I had only Grumpy & Stella I did entertain the idea of getting a crestie. Then I saw how they leap. I was afraid my reflexes wouldn’t be fast enough.

Luckily I knew my roommate before, so we were able to choose to room together!
It’s crazy how fast of reflexes you need for cesties! One second she’s on our arm, looking up at us with her big googly eyes, the next she has somehow launched herself across the room. They really are amazing little creatures
