A Pod of Silkworms on an Airplane?

It's not an international flight, right? :p

If you don't flaunt it, it should be okay. Distract the TSA with a national security threat like a water bottle or slightly too large tube of toothpaste and the worms will go right through :D

I know in Wisconsin I can't have bean beetle cultures shipped to me! Carry on silkworms on a plane might be questionable! Call the airline and ask what there policy is! Fwiw

Not international. I'm just going to see Lisa and Stanley in TN. :)

Its not a liquid, so they cant get you for that.. And its not food going internationally. The only thing might be the big staple holding the food to the cup.

WI has some wierd laws but you aren't going to get into trouble for it unless you walked into the DNR office holding the bean beetles and turned yourself in with a written confession.

Personally I think I'd just ship the pod to them - a few bucks in shipping would make up for the stress of hoping that the pod made it through safely in your luggage and didn't open! :D

I flew home from California last summer with about 5 kinds of insects. Yes silk worms were one of them. Security did not seem interested at all, no problem. I was on United if that helps, but security should not care what airline.

Just order like 5,000 flies from spiderpharm. Release at checkpoint and you'll be waived right thru. They'll be a little too busy corralling freaked out soccer moms to worry about you. :D
In all seriousness, I would mail them. If they flag you cause they don't like your attempt, you will be strip searched at every flight. :( or :) depending on ..........

Thank you for all the tips and comments. :)

I think checked baggage it won't be an issue, personally wouldn't wanna risk the potential hassle for carry on.

I have tons of worms and no time to go to the post office before we leave and they will be too big when we get back so I think I will get put them in a check bag and see how it goes. :):D:):D

Or send in a fall guy with a few kilos of coke so that they're busy busting him you can get your silkworms on the plane safely. Costly but I bet it works. The water bottle and toothpaste was awesome, funniest thing I've heard all week lol
