When I took my first two babies I built a "simple" cage. A few strips of wood, a mesh half inch sized .... in short, a cage as you can have seen many time
......... The wife was horrified: " that henhouse cant be at home."
So to do something a little more stylish I thought I'd take advantage of the outdoor grill, I spent a little 'time, but if you want to do something fast its enough to screw them together and put the hinges on the doors.
Its a double cage and the external measures are 3.6x2x7.2 (1.8x2x6 each cage).
For the rear I used a thin sheet of polycarbonate.
The drain system is made of a rigid transparent plastic sheet, glued and screwed to two long triangles of wood that make it tilted to one side of the cage. I paste the paper folded so as to create a central drain line. Then I’ll put a basket to collect water.
Above the drainage there will be a plastic mesh.
The neon lamp is a unique 30w (uvb5%), which illuminates both cages, (it is much cheaper than two neon). I made the reflector with a section of plastic pipe (5inch diameter), and I spray painted it with a metallic silver.
The separator between the two cages has on it two slits closed by mesh, I have donethem to optimize ventilation, without the two cams will have bothered
The windows on the doors are not exactly in line with the indications "orthodox", but ........, the closing of windows is not glass but plastic, a material that is less reflective, and when is attached to the wooden window it is slightly deformed, and does not allow the chameleon to recognize their own reflection.
I hope my work can useful to somone of you
As my wife says, "Honey……you are spending more time with the chameleons that with the children"
