Hey guys, I'm new to chameleonforums & was curious to see what kinda positive/negative(as long as it's constructive) feedback I could get from anyone who's got the time. I started as any 1st time reptile owner would, by doing your research & making sure you have the time & finances to provide all the necessities in order for a happy, healthy experience. Chameleons have always been the most fascinating captive reptiles to me so I ended up getting a "2 month" old male veiled from Florida chams a couple months ago. He's been living the life ever since. Just to assure you guys im not a ******* with a 20 gal & a bulb, I've set em up in a 36x18x18 reptibreeze, a reptisun 5.0 UVB, 50w basking light, 50w standard bulb, the reptifogger, big dripper & plenty of cover/climbing for the lil guy to go about his biz. I've been alternating days dusting crickets/mealworms with flukers calcium & the exo-terra multi vitamin/rep cal w/ D3 mix. Also feed em fresh fruit/veggies. I know these guys would rather be left alone so I don't try to handle him much. I heard hand feeding em allows them to feel more comfortable around you so I've been doing that with about half of his consumptions. I keep his cage open whenever I'm around the house, he just never seems to want to come out. I know it's still early but I'm thinking I got the lone wolf. I've lost my cham card & am definitely finding myself a bit obsessive over lil Walt. Pretty sure I'm doing it right but always open for suggestions. So to any of you cham veterans that know the language whisper on if you will! Happy New Years! -Al
