Amazing Cham: Ankify

Weird. I usually have the same problem seeing the pics on his site but occasionally it displays them. In the US, Ankify-types are usually imported as Ambanjas since the two towns are so close to each other. I understand a bunch of Ambanjas just came in, but I haven't seen any pics of the males yet.

Ankify lies 25km (15.5 miles) to the south of Ambanja. Not far. The differences if any seems to show in a lighter background and baring made up of dispersed speckling where panthers collected to the north of Ambanajas would have more defined dense baring and a darker background.

Attached is an older pic but IMO a good example of Ankify boarder Ambanjas, or what you'd find in Ankify in general. From what I've seen they show more yellows and brighter, more intense blue bars than what would be considered typical Ambanjas.

That is an amazing picture. Bills site is packed full of great shots. I do see how they are lazy in captivity. My female panther will shot pretty far but the male casually walks up a little closer to the feeder probably knowing it cant get very far.

Will, is it really possible for them to make a shot like that?
Do you know if he actually got the insect?
Holy crap!
I have never see a shot like that!

I agree - fresh WC seem to use more of their tongues than LTC or CB's. I have to train them and ofrce them to shoot from father away, else they can't shoot far at all (relativly speaking).

I had a 14" female deremensis shoot her tongue 22" away. She was a new WC, and scared the hell out of me. I was feeding them, and had the bowl of superworms on the bottom of the free-roam cage. She started eating. I grabbed the tape measure, and was shocked - she was at LEAST 22" from the floor. Insane.

In captivity, they dont' have to worry about scaring the food away, so stealth isnt' an issue. My 7 year old male veiled usually won't even stick his tongue out anymore - he just chomps.
