ambanja or sambava???

ive had this guy for years now and was always under the impression that he was an ambanja because of his pattern and coloration, upon reading a bit about the different locales i am now under the impression that he could be a sambava...what do you think....this is a picture of him sleeping so you can see what u mean what i am saying sambava....let me know what you think!!!

Sleeping colors are different than awake colors. What are his normal colors?

That looks like a night time photo. A day time standard resting photo would be more helpful.

He is beautiful. But he doesn't look like a Sambava to me.

I agree I don't think that he is a Sambava. I am actually having a hard time seeing the Ambanja coloration. A daytime picture would be incredibly helpful in this situation.

Doesn't look like Ambanja to me, the tip of their nose usually sticks out past their lips (see my avatar for example), plus I don't think I've ever seen one with that much yellow in the body.

Is it possible that it could be an Ambanja crossed with...? Ambiliobe maybe, I'm not too good at guessing locales.

my ambanja goes yellow during sleeping too. But, I agree does not looked like Sambava.

heres some other pics of him in all different moods...some are kind of old and some are newer!!!

he just doesnt look like any other ambilobe i have ever seen....

hope these help....he is kinda unique tho whatever he is...i have just seen a lot of sambavas look like him with the top half greenish and the bottom half yellow with red bars...and the normal greenish coloration when normal

he he thanks...i know hes nuts right?...njust wish i could pinpoint a locale....he could be a cross tho i guess......but just doesnt look like ambilobe or ambanja at all to me....the only other chameleon he looks close to is a sambava...well in the pics i have seen even on the forums

ok so even the guy in the classifieds on the forums is selling a sambava that looks almost identical to one of the pics i posted...thats what gives me the idea hes a sambava...pretty similar right???...the greens and purples...literally a spitting image of mine is his normal color state

The one thing about sambavas is that they have the very distinct "U" shaped stripe in the middle of their body. You can see it on the one that is in the classified but I don't see it on your male. I would guess a cross of some sort, but none the less he is a stunner.

yeagh i noticed the bars difference thats why im stumped...maybe ill never know...too bad you couldnt tell by their blood...that would be wicked!
