angry colors

My apologizes if this has been discussed before, I tried searching but couldn't find anything.

My 3 months old cham, Guacamole (2nd day of keeping him), has been displaying very angry colors almost all day. Sometimes just a generally dark green/brown color, or the green with the occasionally dark stripes and spots.

Yesterday he was a happy green the whole day.

What might be the causes of this?

When I walked over he blew himself up and gaped at me, so I know he's not my #1 fan, and I'm okay with that. I'll try to work on him getting accustomed to me. I'm just worried there are other reasons for his unhappiness.

Not the best photo, but this is Guac
(this photo was taken right before I turned his lights on)

Did you notice the darker colors while he was basking? Most chameleons tend to get dark as they're basking. They will sometimes gape as they bask also.

He's probably more reactive because of the move to his new home. Everything is strange...the new schedule, view from a new cage, new territory, etc. More things will tend to set him off for a while. You can help him settle by keeping your daily activity around his cage on some sort of regular schedule, don't mess with the cage setup unless really necessary, give him lots of privacy in the plants, put lights etc. on timers so it becomes more of a predictable routine.
