Another Newbie Question, Juvenile Female Jackson

Hi,

I don't have time to look through old threads at this moment but I was wondering if someone could give me a link or let me know how much I should feed my juvenile female Jacksons? Anyway, she is grey, will she turn green? How do I know when she is mature and full-grown? Thx.

One more question:

Is your chameleon a cutie?

Me?

Peaches is a cutie.

Oh, anyone have any cute names for a female Jackson's?

How often should I wet my chameleon with water? Thx.

Jackson's need plenty of water and humidity in the air to prevent dehydration (and eventual kidney damage from chronic mild dehydration).
Having a dripper on the cage and misting 4 times a day for 4 or 5 minutes per misting would not be excessive.
Many Jackson's owners buy readymade quality misting systems like the MistKing or Aquazamp system. Both are forum sponsors and the MistKing systems are also available from other sponsors like Josh's Frogs and LLL Reptile
Air inside our homes can get very dry during the winter from the heating and during the summer from a/c.

The other thing that I would emphasize is to not give your Jackson's supplements as often as people do with Veiled or Panther chams.
Jackson's not only need less, they have to have less--otherwise they tend to develop serious kidney and/or liver problems.

This care sheet and the other care info in that section of the forum address many common questions and concerns:

The pre-made gutloads are not regarded as sufficient.

Fresh fruits and veggies will do much more to make the feeders nutritious and they'll provide a balance of nutrients for your cham.
