Another Translucent Veiled Thread

Greetings everyone!

The last time I was on here was about a month ago when our one and only Cami passed away. :(

Today I am posting to welcome our newest addition to our veiled family, Luna the translucent veiled! :) Cami will NEVER be replaced. It's just nice to have another girl around the apartment. :D She is shy as expected when coming to a new home, but she certainly did not run or show any aggression towards my hand when I went to take her out for these photos which I'm thankful for. She seems like a sweetheart already... <3

I've read several threads on the whole genetics, morphs, etc etc on how these guys came to be, but I'm still at a loss as to what determines their "level" of translucency? (low, high, super, etc?)

I find this quite fascinating and would love to hear more or any fresh information even if it has already been said.

Thank you!

I got her from a breeder located in NorCal, not sure if he has or works for a company. Probably a private breeder. I can give him your email or contact number if you're really interested. :)

Your girl Luna is beautiful! You should be very proud!

I haven't found anything giving precise definitions for levels of translucency of veileds, but from what I've gathered from ads and a few sales sites, low and high translucency depends on how white the white parts are, and how much of the chameleon is white.

Low translucent chameleons seems to be more of a pinkish white, while high translucent is a brighter white. The high translucent also seems to have more white on the legs, face and head, while the low seems to be more on the feet. I'm not sure what super is, but I guess it might be the offspring of two high translucents?

When I've looked for them before, I saw FLChams had some for sale in both varieties. They may have a precise definition, or maybe someone that knows for sure will come along.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but your new girl is especially lovely. :)

Thanks so much! Yea I dont see or hear much about trans, but from what I have read it sounds like they may be on the market more in the near future so I figure there'd be more info about them. :D
