Ants in reptile room

So i have a bit of an ant problem... I sprayed home defense outside the window they are coming in from...also sprayed in reptile room but having second thoughts...i have a bin of discoid roaches as well as crickets..im worried that the ants will kill off roaches. How much pesticide would it take to kill my animals? If they eat insects with pesticide on them?

No way to really tell. Could cause problems later in life like it does for people. I wouldn't recommend using pesticides in room with bugs and chams. Just isn't safe.

I’ve gently sprayed the bottom outside and around the ground of my roach bins before and didn’t experience any noticeable die off. Typical home defense stuff. I also have ant baits in places outside.

If you want an animal-safe ant-killer, get some good-grade diatomaceous earth. Poof it around your window and on the floor (NOT near the cage or your feeders - it's a very fine powder and it's a mechanical killer - it gets into the lungs and joints of insects and it suffocates/grinds their joints to death).

It's great because as long as it's dry, it works indefinitely. There's no poison and it's actually edible. IF it gets wet, it doesn't work... until it dries out again. I've used it on ants for years with GREAT success. It also works on all bugs, so it's important you don't get it near your feeders. but I've killed off ants, roaches, even bedbugs. Amazing stuff.

I use terro ant bait, I put it at origion of ant entrance to the room….works every time
This is all you need! We have soooo many ants around our house(which btw keeps away termites) and these do the trick every time, even for massive colonies. I only use them when they come in the house. Borax(the ingredient in these traps) is totally safe for pets and humans. Depending on what kind of ants you have around, chances are they won’t hurt anything. Some are drawn to and/or bring plant pests to harvest their sugary excretions. Usually if the plant is covered with ants, there’s probably scale or something on the plant too.

Screw all these dangerous pesticides… bunch of people are going to end up on ‘you or a loved one’ commercials years down the road. I live in the woods and use natural means for bug repellent and weeds, no bugs in the house and my yard looks amazing. No chemicals needed 😁👍

I’ve never used this, but I THINK I read it can cause respiratory issues(not sure in what quantities)… I’d have to research it more though TbH. I’m not arguing against, but something to think about(especially with Cham’s sensitive lungs).
