Would a fecal test rule this out ??All that was important is that some things can be transmitted through the air so a new chameleon IMHO should be in a different room than the rest of your critters.
No...it's not a parasite I'm concerned about...it's spores or possibly a virus or bacteria.Would a fecal test rule this out ??
Sorry for my stupidity @kinyonga but what has canv got to do with this cham ?

I think a fecal done and cleared before I would get him would be best
Ok I thought you where mentioning cavn because someone said something about wild caught. But after a bit of reading this morning I understand. Thanks for your knowledgeI don't know what else to say....but if you're going to bring a chameleon home I would quarantine it in a dIfferent room for several months before putting it in the same room with your other ones an be careful with your hygiene when working with them.
Are there any tests that can confirm or rule out cavn. You're welcome.
There is a test for CANV but the chameleon isn't showing any signs of it so IMHO there's no reason to do the test.....I was only bringing up the CANV, as I said before, to show you why it's important to quarantine them in a separate room when you get a new chameleon in your collection. Are there any tests that can confirm or rule out cavn.
I don’t have much against mixing locales, especially those in geographically similar areas. (Correct me if I’m wrong) but they must occasionally interbreed in the wild, no?What are the thoughts about breeding different locales together. My girl is supposed to be an ambilobe
To be honest I would prefer to breed pure lines myself as I used to breed purebred dogs.I don’t have much against mixing locales, especially those in geographically similar areas. (Correct me if I’m wrong) but they must occasionally interbreed in the wild, no?
