Any suggestions to attach window mesh to 1"X1/2" cage wire

I recently got a pregnant female veiled that was stressed out when I had her in a 3'x2'x2' screen enclosure so I traded it for an enclosure a foot taller... Problem is that it was custom made for sugar gliders so it was made from larger gauged wire. I'm wondering what the best way to attach window screen (to keep her feeders in because now that she's laid I can put her insects throughout the cage) besides duct tape (because it's falling off the wire mesh the cage is made from) and zip ties (because she'll climb up the ties and get her nails stuck -it NEVER fails!) Thinking of trying silicone.... Is this ok? And has anyone else ever found a way that works better i.e. making an "in cage feeding station" and if so, needing suggestions on that. Thanks

Silicone would be a mess IMHO. Have you tried light gauge florist's wire? You can "stitch" the screen by wrapping it around the frame and threading it through the screen every few strands. Wrap it tightly to avoid looser loops that might catch nails. There are very small zip ties too. Maybe the ties you have tried were too bulky. Maybe a combination of the two. Zip ties at corners where she isn't as likely to get her nails caught, and fine gauge wire where she does tend to climb.
