Achmed is not eating his crix........since I started feeding him super worms, I can't get him to eat anymore crix......I have been leaving some in there around the clock to see if they disappear, but they don't....any helpful insight??

It happens. Especially after introduction of super worms. It should pass with in a week or two. In the mean time, don't even show him crix, and try re-introducing crix after 1 week. Be sure to have your supers gutloaded. It would also help if you had another feeder like silkworms.

Also, I believe that supers taste way better than crickets. Anytime I have a super in my hand, my veileds will run (did I say run? more like sprint) across the cage and devour it within seconds. Same effect with silkies, even if it's their secondary staple other than crix now.

OH NO!
Haha.
Just pray he dosent end up like my male Vieled, Igor.
He has and will only eat supers.
Its been like this for several months now.
I have tried everything!
Roaches, crickets, dragonfly, house fly, phoneix worms, pinkies, hornworms, and silkies.
You should definitely try what VerteX said to do.
If that dosent work out, then you better gutload them really good.
Their really isnt anything wrong with supers, infact I like them better then crickets.
They take up less room, they are the same price, they live longer, less die, easy to gut load, and they are a great staple.
Whatever happens-Good luck!

Wow... Thanks reptileguy for asking this...cause I have been having this same problem... My panthers will only eat supers and free range crix... I hate crix... but never knew you could use supers as a staple... I was always told otherwise. I was breeding supers just to have them as a treat but now I think I am going to increase my production of them and start gut loading. What would you think of a diet made up of gut loaded silkies and supers. For some reason my chams love anything in worm form, and aren't as fond of roaches. I have been waiting on my first batch to pupate... They are finally making some progress and I have my first beetle!!! I will post a thread with the pics later.

What do you guys use to gutload your supers??? I heard Potato is good... anything else to recommend for optimal nutrition.

Supers eat anything and I mean anything.
I use cucumber, apples, carrots, and sweet potato.
I also toss in a handfull of the Flukers Cricket Feed once a week.
I put a little of each in everyday.
The bran they live in is food.
Make sure to buy an extra gallon of bran if your lazy like me or make your own.
After 2-4 weeks it starts to stink!
You need to sift the container to clean out any of the dead ones too.
Check out my pictures of 500 supers.

I hear all these people talking about their Veileds not wanting crickets for a while but Magnum has never denied a cricket! He gets Superworms and Crickets as his food, but I am about to start with Silkworms, so he will have some different choices. Is it common for your Chameleon to not deny the Crickets?
