Anyone know what bug this is?

I think someone onetime told me it was an assassin bug but I have no clue. It's currently squished on my wall

That looks like a wheel bug to me. They're sting/bite is supposed to be super painful

Good to know. I was told they're no good, I just wasn't sure of the name. Thank you. Now I'm wondering how it got in my apartment. I've seen some twice that size before but never inside. Yikes

Looks like a western conifer seed bug, Leptoglossus occidentalis. Looking at the wing shapes and the lobes on the lower part of back leg.

I'm no western conifer seed beetle specialist but that's what it looked like to me.
I'm an artist and I was commissioned to paint a series of beetles, until I did this I didn't fully appreciate the stunning beauty and design of beetles, whether a 4" goliathus or a 4 mm long weevil, have a look under a microscope and you'll be blown away by its beauty even if it's our humble feeder locust or roach.
