Anyone's Cham tried to eat a rock?

I've had both on the same feed schedule for quite a while now. 12 crickets every other day, 1 super worm and 4 or so crickets on the other days. It alternates. However today I saw him try to chew up a small rock which covers the soil of the plants. Any ideas as to why? Should I feel him 12 or so crickets everyday? He's 1 year and 3 months old.

My guy will occassionally gnaw at a big river rock or a branch. No idea why, but i saw other people report similar here. It seems to happen when he's in his active mood running around the cage.

Make sure the rocks you use are too big to eat because it's not uncommon for them to try.

Like Kinyonga said, use very large river rocks. My daughter's Panther ate a rock and it killed her.
