Are Chameleons waterproof?

After a healthy session of misting I found out that water beads up on my 5 1/2 month old Cham Ranger's skin. And as he climbs around it just rolls off naturally.
Are they just naturally waterproof? Does the water somehow soak up in their skin?

Thanks for the help!

Most terrestrial animals do have waterproof skin with the exception of most amphibians. Humans do. But what you are witnessing is the hydrophobic properties of their skin. On hydrophobic surfaces, water's adhesive properties do do not apply because the surface is made of nonpolar molecules. This causes the water to bead and roll off.
