Are sticks ok?

It's been windy this past week in Denver and now there are a bunch of decent sized sticks laying around my apartment building. I thought it would be fun for Espio if I put some in his terrarium so that he had more climbing material. He has two fake plants in there now, a fake tree, and some fake vines for climbing but nothing real. Would these sticks be ok to put in there?

I've also been thinking about getting a real plant to put in there for him. I seem to have the opposite of a green thumb though and kill any plant I try to take care of. Any suggestions on a cham safe hard to kill plant for him? Does your chameleon like live plants? Espio really only moves around his terrarium when he's hunting. Every once in a while he will go for a stroll over to the UVB lighted area or climb on his vines, but he mainly likes his plant under the basking light. I want to get him some more diverse climbing material so that he will want to explore more. He's only 4ish months old and just a little guy. I want him to live a long and happy life. :)

for the sticks, yes it is ok as long as you pour boiling water on them to sterilize them. for the plant i don't know. maybe someone else will get on and help you out with that one. i have the same problem with plants. the only plant i can seem to grow is a cactus. lol. wish you luck.

Sticks are fine to use. There are different ways that everyone cleans them but I prefer to take off the bark, wash them in soapy water and then bake them in the oven. I found this to be one of the easiest and quickest way to do them.

As for plants, there are a few I would look into Pothos, Ficus and Schefleras. Home Depot and Lowes usually have some great plants for dirt cheap.

I have a schefflera and pothos. I NEVER water them. Ficus for my free range. It gets watered. I do not put them under the heat bulb. They are both on the cooler side of the enclosure. You also need to make sure they are under a plant light. This is how I do my plants and they have yet to die on me and are growing like crazy :)
