yes you can feed them,
but I would clip off the knees

I would feed them off right away
so they still have their natural gutload

you can gutload them with grasses tucked tightly in a jar
filled with water

I've been catching regular grasshoppers lately and found that they eat alot of the gutload I put in for them, I've been waiting to catch one of the flying hoppers like you are talking about. My Carmie loves the grasshoppers I've been giving her so much that she doesn't even finish eating one before she is hunting another not to mention that I think she enjoys the hunt more than other insects. I really would like to find some mantis'.

ok guys so i cought a large one about 2 inches long and another thats about 1 inch, they are sooooooooooo hard to catch! Cant wait to get hom etommorow to feed him :)

LOL! Without a fishnet with a long handle, and a side of a building to fly them into, I don't know that I've ever managed to catch a one. I agree that removing the legs isn't a terrible idea. Personally, I find it easier to just grasp the leg and let them drop it than cut it above the knee, but either way, there is a lot of bony, jagged parts there.
