He is actually around 4 years old as he was about a year old when I got him., although the breeder wasn't sure of his hatch date as their records had been lost. Haha! Bagpuss! Hes, he's a saggy old cloth gecko!OMG he is adorable, like a gecko version of Bagpuss!
He's weighs more than my Panther!

They have a reputation for squirting liquid poop when threatened, but mine has never done this! The horror stories I heard about their poop almost put me off getting one. I am so glad I went ahead and got him, hes the most wonderful gecko ever! I do occasionally see him through the day, but he is quite shy. I sometimes have to wake him up when I need to clean and he's quite happy being handled for a short time. Yes, the poop does smell (doesn't all poop?!) but I find the urates to be worse smelling than the poop. That said, he generally does a solid poop - he curled one up like a chocolate Mr Whippy the other day!
Honestly, don't let the poop thing put you off. In 3 years he's pooped on me twice I think. Get a baby then it can grow up in your care and get used to you. They are like chams though - they are all different! Feel free to drop me a message if you want to chat some more!

Thanks Miss Lily, I was trying not to be rude and imply you had a poopy pet but yes- that's what I was referring to- as you say the stories kind of put me off but as you also say poop is poop! so it does make me reconsider- I will definitely take you up on the offer for more advice- I've been checking out leaf tailed geckos too-saw two henkels the other day and they were beautiful.
The leachies are certainly very special, thanks for the advice so maybe watch this space?

Well thanks a bunch! I woke up this morning thinking no I must not under any circumstance even consider getting a leachie. Now I see those photos I think I'm even more head over heals in love with them, he is so gorgeous, like you say you should want give him a big cuddle! He's adorable! I would have to squish and snuggle that baby, too. That gecko smile is amazing.
