I have a small vailed female that I picked up Christmas Eve I have a auto mist system coming tomorrow was wondering if misting for 5-10 sec several times a day would be ok to get my real vines wet and for her to have drinking water

Hello and welcome. Congregations on your new friend. It needs to be set to the finest mist possible and run for one to two minutes twice a day. I like mine to get a chance to warm up under the basking lights before I water but many do it first thing. Make sure it’s hitting leaves as they like to drink water off of leaves but will often do it when you aren’t there. Also misting allows them to clean their eyes and helps trigger the drink response. If you have fake plants in the cage, they have to go as chameleons especially females like to nibble of plants and plastic can cause and impactiation and death. Plus they can’t drink off of plastic and it lowers the humidity. Good luck to you. You should have a full husbandry done here once you have pictures of the Cham, cage, lights, supplements etc. it’s always best to start off right as we all know how much misinformation is out there.

Welcome to the forum. Start reading this husbandry program.... https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/
Look up Neptune the Chameleon videos on Youtube. Both of these are reliable resources for accurate info which is very much needed to start off on the right foot with keeping chams. Ask questions in the forum.

Specific to your question. No, that would not be long enough you want a longer 2-4 minute misting in the morning right after lights kick on and then late afternoon/evening before lights kick off. The moving water triggers a drinking response.
