baby chewing

My new little guy arrived Tuesday morning. He is a 3-month Ambilobe. At first he wouldn't eat and now I've seen him eat a cricket or two and a wax worm. He has also started chewing on the braches in the enclosure. They are wild branches which I baked and removed any loose bark from. I've seen him bite them twice now. Is this a big deal or normal? I don't want him to hurt himself but I also don't want to disrupt somewhat normal behavior.

Any input is appreciated.

From other posts I've read it's normal behavior, although it's not exactly clear why they do it. My Cham is 6 months old and does this as well, typically when I'm misting him. Just make sure there isn't any loose bark he can swallow (it sounds like you already have), and don't worry about it.
