baby panther cage size

Hi I'll be getting a baby panther soon and I plan on making a cage. I saw a lot of different sizing for babies through out the internet and was wondering is 24x24x36 is too big? It's going to be 2-3months old

That's a little big for a a two month old IMO
Okay I thought it might be what would be reccomended then?I only plan on having 2 cages. The second one is going to be 4 feet high, 3feet long , and 2feet width. So what size should the first one be? And when should I put him in the big cage?

I'd say definitely no bigger then 18x18x36 as of now. That's even a little big for a 2 month old. If he's more in the three month range, he may be ok. That second cage is an awesome size for an adult. I'd keep him in the first cage until he's oh, I dunno, maybe 7-8 months. Then set the smaller cage next to the larger one. Each day I would open both doors to the cages and use some sort of vine to connect the two. This is a good way to introduce him into his new giant cage, at his own pace. This way it's also his idea to go in there, and not you just taking him out of what has been his home for months. Where he will know every nook and cranny. He may decide to stay in the big cage the first night you do this, or he may go back to the smaller one where he will probably have his "sleeping spot" If he goes back, just continue allowing him the option of the bigger cage each day, and when he has got it all explored and is comfortable I bet he'll move on in and ditch the smaller cage.

I don't think that cage will be a problem, however, if it does worry you you can always raise up the plastic floor so you shorten the cage. This and/or cup feeding and your baby should do just fine. you could start with a 24" cube, for example, and lower the floor as he gets bigger.

I thought about suggesting this as well, but I wasn't sure if she had already made the cage or not. I think this is such an ingenious idea.
