Bamboo rods?

Is there a way to make bamboo rods easier for Chams to grip on to them? I was thinking of maybe sanding them with large grit sand paper to make grooves in them but I didn’t know if the would harm the Chams or not.

I just used em without treatment, I haven't seem em having trouble using the bamboo, it may even be a good grip workout.
But if you're concerned I'd sand em down rather than cutting grooves into them as it will become sharp.

You can always wrap some fake vine plant around it which will make grips and make it prettier. Or plain vine

True... check Amazon.com for different ropes and twines.. maybe you can look for waterproof ones

Or you could just use a type of branch that isn't slippery and doesn't require doctoring? Haha

I wanted to grab some branches from out side but I don’t have a big enough over to bake them and I feel like if I just let them sun dry then pests can come back on to them
