Banded crickets "Gryllodes sigillatus" come to U.S?

Ghann's Cricket Farm is discontinuing raising Gryllus assimilis (the breed they switched to after the densovirus infected their Achetas).

According to their website, they tried raising Gryllus for the past year but were not making enough profit.
They are now switching to a cricket species that has been a popular commercial feeder in Europe:

Gryllodes sigillatus AKA "banded crickets" or "tropical house crickets".

To my knowledge, this species has never been sold before in the U.S, so Ghann's will be the first to do it.

Anyone have experience with these? What do yall think?

yeah thats what we get in the uk

In my eyes not the best food for the cham but this is my view

they are very active tho so if you have a true hunter they should love them

I am not sure how if feel about it. I have hated the black ones. I would like the ones before the virus but I guess that won't happen. I had tried other cricket vendors and found them to expensive or not willing to ship in my temps.

I think I got some of the banded ones from a local mom and pop store around here. I was confused about what they were at first.

I also purchased them from a local petstore so my guess is someone that distributes is already breeding them, I had no complaints with them, they just looked a bit odd

Yeah. I actually like them better than the black crickets. They are more like the old brown ones.

This is interesting, as some of my fellow-breeders are buying breeder quantities from Ghauns. Someone said to me a few weeks ago that this species was in fact more aggressive that A. domesticus, but Ghauns states they are not as aggressive as G. assimilis. I will be interested to hear about these, in addition to Ghauns nutritional analysis.
