Basking Spot Light

For a 4' tall enclosure for a Veiled Chameleon is it neccessary a Basking Spot Light combined with a Heat Wave Lamp (doesn't produce any light), or will a Heat Wave Lamp do good?

I need the heat lamp to be turned on at night because during winter the temperature might drop a little too low for the cham, and in order to not disturb his sleep I was thinking about getting one of those. My only doubt is if it will be sufficient to provide a good spot for him to bask during the day.

I was thinking about this one: http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/heat_wave_lamp.php

Hello!:)
Welcome to CF!
This is the place to ask questions, so Im glad you are here.;)

You will need a regular household incandecent bulb for basking.
(about 60-75watts)
You will also need a UVB light for the chameleon to get the D3 it needs.

No lights should be used at night.
If your temps drop below 50F at nite, then you should use the ceramic heater you linked to.

The ceramic heater will not work for daytime basking;)

Any other questions, just ask!

Thanks for the welcoming! :)

Why doesn't the ceramic heater works during the day? Is it because it doesn't produce enough heat, or is it because the chameleon needs a direct light beam on his body to be happy?
