Bearded dragon

All my lizards get the same supplements. only the food changes. A beardy will get the same calcium and D3 mix as a cham. Vitamin supplements are not magic, they are insurance. Oh noes i bought the vitamin pack that had a gecko on it instead of a beardy! Oh gee if you look at the ingredients list, they are 99% the same, other than the micro marketing mix. Its the same with dog food. I love it when the 60lb dog food is the same as the chihuahua box, other than the shape of the kibble, but dont worry the chihuahua is 2x the price per pound.

Yeah I have ppl doing the same to me. They think all lizards are the same, you would think my family would understand by now I keep chameleons not iguanas

Well lets be honest here, your cham would be happy if you had a half room sectioned off with a sliding glass door, setup for an iguana :)

So I’m reading on Beardies and I’m Reading Calcium with D3 every 2 feedings, then multivitamins one feeding and repeat cycle...
I’m conflicted ?

I think if I’m doing something like that I would get a tegu instead. I find them more fascinating for some reason

Nah. I basically have a pet hole. If you give a tegu a few feet of dirt, well you will have a hole that huffs at you if you clean poop/food around it. They will come out and sun for an hour, then go back into the hole and dig, then come out and sun for an hour, rinse repeat. And on the weekends they will be out sunning in the morning, and you can pick them up and put them in the bathtub for the weekly soaks.

I cringe so hard when parents get their kids reptiles, when they don't even know the easier aspects about said reptile.

I kept beardless for quite a while and I give them the same vitamins, calcium and D3 that I give the chameleons....phos free calcium dusted on the insects lightly at all feedings but 4 a month... once every second week on 2 of the remaining days I dust lightly with a vitamin powder that has a beta carotene source of vitamin A and the other 2 days, every second week I dust with phos free calcium D3 lightly. I feed them salads that consist of the same greens, veggies and fruits that I use to feed/ gutload the chameleons insects with.
