Bed time?

I am wondering. When I put my little guy to bed. It doesn't get completely dark in my room and his home is right by a window. I do have a curtain but it's not completely dark. Also when my wife and I are going to bed we turn the light on in our room. I was curious if it was ok to throw a towel or something over most of it at night just to make sure it gets dark or does it really matter that much?

I think the general consensus is that chams do not need a night light (so no red/blue light at night) and that having one can disturb their sleep. Ophelia is in my room and once the timer turns her lights out at 7:30pm, I am very careful to not turn the light on in my room. I noticed that if one of my kids needs to show me something and they turn on the room light (and it is on for longer than 10 mins) her eyes will start to crack open and give me a death stare. And, to be honest, I feel the same way when someone disturbs my sleep lolol

If your room is lit up after his bedtime, I would definitely cover him or move him so that is his sleep is undisturbed.

Thanks. That makes sense, our room is honestly the quietest room in the house and he will fet the most privacy there, That's the only reason. Yea I knew about the light that's who wanted it to be as dark as possible. It's only a small night light lamp we have on in our room next to our bed. So it's not very bright. I just wanted to make sure their really wasn't an issue putting a towel or something over it that's all. It would just be at night. Thank you for the input

You're welcome :) my light in my room is the fan light in the center ceiling - so when a kid turns it on, I'm like - turn that off, Ophelia is sleeping! They tease me that she is my favorite child lol, if it's a small night light lamp, then it might not be a big deal. Sometimes, O will be facing away from the room (facing the back of her cage) and I know that the foliage is providing a lot of coverage - then I will be a little more tolerant of the lights on for a moment. You can cover his cage overnight, for sure.
