Hey guys I was just wondering what the most ideal temps are for a 4 month male veiled? I really want those colors to pop as much as possible.

Also I have a 5 week old female veiled. What are the best temps for her as well?
Thanks

I have a female veiled so I only know this one for sure. For a baby veiled ideal temps for basking are around the 78 to 80 range. When your female gets older (sexually mature) you will want to keep her temps around 82 to help (in addition with feeding amount) to keep her from laying large infertile clutches. I believe the basking temps for an adult male velied can creep into the high 80's/low 90's? not 100 percent sure on that. It is good for it to be significantly cooler (low to mid 70's) at the bottom of the cage so your cham can choose where it feels comfortable. At night it is ok for the temps to reach the mid 60 to low 70's. hope this helps.

I have been having trouble with the cage having a high and low temp. Any ideas on how to make it cooler in lower part of the cage?

The best way that I have found so far is to provide a lot of plants. The foliage provides shade, and the soil in the plants also helps to maintain humidity.

thank you.
need more ideas on what to have the temps at. I want to get my info from you guys ppl I know have chams.

The 5 week old female's hottest spot should be 80. The 4 month old male should be 82 or 83 for the hottest spot and of course both should have cooler areas in the middle and bottom of the cage in the low 70's bottom to mid 70's middle.
