Bioactive soil mixture

Im trying to make my glass cage bioactive and am wondering how to mix the carbon sans peet moss ans wood chips also do i need a pump for the water to pump from the hydroballs through the top of the soil?

I’ve been using Terra firma from the biodude. But I’ve also mixed in some fox farm soil along with some spagnum moss and leaf litter.

Depending on your situation and how much you have to mist to maintain humidity you might not have to pump water out of your drainage layer.
I’ve had mine going for a year now and haven’t had to drain any water out.
