Blue Bottle Fly Pupae

I received blue bottle fly pupae from mantisplace.com a week ago, and was wondering how long they take to become flies? I had read it took 4 to 5 days, but I haven't had a single fly yet.

They usually take longer in the winter time - sit the cup on top of your cage near the light and it will speed things up -

It can take weeks in cold weather.

Yo Jack, same situation as you. I've had mine for 7 days now, and just this morning a few hatched... a few hours later when I got back from work, the container was filled of em. Happy cham again

Thanks for the info everyone! I put the container up by the light to warm them up and they started hatching the next day!

Did they get your guy to eat ?

Try putting a moist paper towel on the bottom of the cup. The humidity helps them hatch easier.

I agree, much funner to watch them eat mantis or moths.
