Branches of Different Trees

I just did a little bit of research and oak is apparently one of the tree species that does not drip sap. This is good news for the chameleons. I bet you could just wash it/bake it and it would be safe. I know that oak can sometimes have parasites, but the washing and/or baking would rid of any bugs.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you have a panther you have to be more picky because they chew the branches!
They do? I have ready lots of times about veiled eating plants but this is the first I have seen of panthers eating branches!

I’ve never seen them actually eat the branches…they just seem to nibble on them. Some other chameleons eat fruits, etc too on occasion in the wild apparently.

F. oustaleti is known to regularly consume the fruit of Grangeria porosa, Chassalia princei, and Malleastrum gracile, and will do so even during the wet season, suggesting that fruit is not consumed just to obtain water.”…

Interesting. I’ve seen him lick the water off the branches but no nibbling yet.
