Bringing chams outside

Due to the shy nature of 3 of my 4 chams, Zuri is the only one who ever gets to enjoy going outside. I'd really like to bring everyone else out, but I'm really nervous of them freaking out once they get out there. Anyone have any tips on bringing a shy cham outside/ getting them out of their cages? My two jacksons turn and run away from me when I open their doors, so I'd imagine it will be a huge struggle to get either of them out...

Sometimes it might require immense amounts of patience... When I rescued Peter, he was extremely tempermantal (and kind of still is). He hisses and acts like he's going to bite me and everything... but much less than before.

He loves it once he's outside and turns happy colors and basks for hours and everything. It's just getting him outside is the pain

Probably just take one at a time though because you don't want them running away simultaniously and then losing one or a couple... I had Ender and Peter out at the same time a couple days ago and it was almost like they had coordinated an escape beforehand! No fun... Good thing my girlfriend was there to help catch one

haha I agree. I'd be a total stressball to have more than one out at a time! I don't have plants outside either that are big enough to hold more than one cham. When you take your guy out, do you bring him out on a stick, a plant, or your hand?

Once he's in my hand, he chills out a bit... dark colors and stuff, but doesn't try to attack me So I just bring him outside on my hand. Eventually they'll start to get used to you and you shouldn't have much of a problem with handling them. I think a stick would work backward on that, in my opinion...

I just bring, Tricky out on my hand. Usually he sits on my hand, shoulder or head and basks while I am using my phone or reading something. I feel better that way, I don't feel as comfortable leaving him on a plant on his own outside, even if I am watching a few feet away most of the time.

Kind of funny, talking about chameleons who run away from their owner's hands. When, Tricky first arrived, he was like that. Now though, he walks on my hand and sometimes lets me rub his chin. Actually sometimes he won't even go back in his enclosure while on my hand. Several times. For instance, today (technically yesterday, Friday the 8th of August) I recorded this and showed my friend. I had, Tricky on my hand, he walked on it to get a cricket. But after getting on my hand he wouldn't go back. So I took him outside for some basking. Then tried putting him back. Still wouldn't go. Brought him downstairs to relax with me while on my computer. Bring him upstairs, put my hand (while he's on it) in the enclosure…wait a minute…he just sits there. Not leaving my hand. He's right next to the vine but actually started turning and walking back towards me, onto my arm.

…He's a tricky little guy sometimes. I guess every chameleon is different, huh? XD

I take my guy out first thing in the morning. I also mist the plant he hangs out in and drinks then more than he does in his cage. He seems to that the first bit of light he gets is actual real sunlight.
