"Bach" my new baby panther chameleon (ambilobe x ambanja cross) is in his new home tonight. I am going to give him a day or two to settle in before taking pics of him.
I want to introduce myself to everyone on here, I have posted very little but have been addicted to this site for hours every day for the last 2 or so months taking in all the information possible so I can do everything right for my new baby.
Here are the pictures of his new home, let me know if there is anything I haven't thought of that needs to be changed. It is a reptibreeze 16x16x30 and it has: bulb for heat, reptisun 5.0, big dripper, digital thermometer & hygrometer, vines of various sizes, two live plants (arboricola & Dracaena fragrans) bottom of cage drilled for drainage. I already have the reptibreeze 24x24x48 for when he gets bigger so this cage will only be for next few months.
Now for some pics :)

Pics of Bach will be posted as soon as possible! I know the top right of cage looks kinda bare of any plants but the arboricola should fill that in pretty quickly.

For the time being I would suggest a few fake plants on top until the plant grows a little more. Looks good otherwise! Post a pic of his sire and the dams sire if you have one :D

Thats really good. Only thing I see is that the cup to the bottom left is not screened shut. If he fell in there and theres alot of water or w/e he may drown. Cover it and you will have a perfect home ;)

However if that cup is for feeders I would get something shallower that he can easily get out of and no water can collect.

I think it's a feeding cup, in which case you may want to consider moving it up a bit.

You're going to have a handsome baby!

Shouldn't it be a shallower feeding cup??
Mine is only like a inch tall and I just put crickets in it, hold it up to Charlie then take it out when he ate them all.

Not all chameleons will eat with your hand so close. I use a feeding cup that is 6-7 inches tall and it works just fine. Though my panther Cham won't go near a cup and I either free range or use a milk carton with screen on the inside.

no. if its an inch I would suggest making it taller to be honest, crickets could easily jump out.

I was estimating. Its about 2 inches Um I am not going to make it taller or find any other. I put crickets in it, hold it near Charlie. He comes walking fast and eats them all as I hold the container. No cricket has jumped out..

Pssh, A milk carton with screen?

I may find something else to use for feeder cup but for now I just have it in cage for Bach to get used to seeing it. There are small holes in bottom of cup to allow any water to drain out. We will see if Bach takes to cup feeding down the road, I'm not going to worry about it yet.

Atleast I think you should get a clear feeding cup so when the feeders move it catches the chameleons eye and then Bach may find their food faster. ;)

You're not supposed to use a clear one because they try to catch the food from the outside of the cup... It needs to be at least opaque and if it is solid it shouldn't be a bright color.

and I am found wrong.. I use clear it works perfectly fine, I was giving him my experience.

Chameleons can hurt their tongues that way. You also hold it to the chameleon so it doesn't have to find it. If a chameleon were to come across it while it was on the bottom of the cage and try to shoot at the bugs from below, it wouldn't work.
