Anyone ever used or have any opinion about using bug burger with blue bottle flies. I've been using the good from mantidpets.com with water crystals also. Just wondered if I could save a few cents by using bug burger for food and hydration?

I haven't, but I plan to feed it to fruit flies when my babies hatch.....let us know how the blue bottles like it :)

I use bug burger all the time, it works great, put 2 parts water 1 part bug burger and heat it up in the microwave to a boil, stir then refridgerate..once its cooled its like a burger patty, give spoonfulls to insects plus whatever other gutloading you use (fresh and dry) ..i think its a great addition for guts loads..

If you mean for feeding BB flies, yes, I use bug burger and mix as follows;

1/2 teaspoon bug burger (prepared)
1/4 teaspoon calcium dust (plain, no D3)
2 teaspoons honey
1/2 teaspoon of that powdered fly food stuff
a few drops of water to make mixing easier

Put ingredience in a small deli cup w/ lid and mix well.
Put it into your fly container with a strip of plastic mesh cut small so the flies have a foothold and wont drown in the mixture.

They LOVE the stuff! and it doesn't even have any poop in it!! :D
