Building Custom Cages

So...after some thought...I've decided that if I'm going to be adding a second chameleon to my collection, I'm going to build a custom cage for the two of them (or rather design one and have someone help me). I'll have a panther, and either a carpet or an oustalet's (I know, big difference between the two, I can't make up my mind) in the cage. They will be seperated by a wall...so please don't panik...but the cage will be one unit with two sides.

I have a few concerns and questions before I start:
The cage will be wood and screen, built to have cabinets and an enclosed drainage system on the bottom, with the actual enclosure being at least 4 ft high, one side will be smaller than the other. I am picturing something like an open armoire with a Texas flare (forgive me, I'm a texas girl). Rustic looking wood. My main concern is the wood. To keep the two sides of the cage seperate, can I use wood that is treated and sealed, or do I need to use some sort of plastic? Also, is it okay to have a screen top, and two sides, with the back and the wall inbetween being solid? I figure that would give pleanty of ventilation.

I plan to have all the lighting fixtures set up permanently on top, as well as a misting system.

Forgive my stupidity on this. I'm not a woman that is gifted in woodworking, but I would like to spoil my chameleons as much as possible :D
