lbesok Avid Member May 16, 2008 #2 Hello, I would recommend going with a 24 in Flourescent UVB tube like so: http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/uvb-fluorescent-lights-mercury-vapor-bulbs/-/zoo-med-24-repti-sun-50-uvb-bulb/ http://lllreptile.com/store/catalog/reptile-supplies/uvb-fluorescent-lights-mercury-vapor-bulbs/-/zoo-med-24-repti-sun-100-fluorescent-bulb/ As far as a fixture goes, something with a hood is always good for the reflection attributes. Something cheep would be a 24 in fixture from Walmar, HomeDepot or Lowes maybe in the $20-$30 range. I see plenty of people get double tubed hooded fixtures like this, sometimes using the other bulb as a grow light. I have noticed though that you have to be careful and make sure the cord is already inserted into the fixture. For most of our cages we use plastic fixtures from walmart that don't have a hood, and rig them up with tin foil for more suitable reflection pruposes.... All of those are single bulb and below $20.
