butterworm question

hey my cham won't eat butterworms all the time, just some of them i think this is because they aren't lively enough, but she will eat phoenix worms that aren't moving (dark black ones)...do you feed butterworms if so how do you get them to wiggle around more?

It sounds like she likes phoenix worms more. If she only eats some butterworms and eats all the phoenix worms that aren't even moving, it sounds likely.

she does, and im starting to believe all the talk about their nutritional content. ever since is started feeding them her colors come out more. do you use phoenix worms? the ones i have are turning pretty dark i guess they will be flies soon

My guy is the pickiest guy ever and will only eat them somtimes. My guy refuses silks, dubias, butterworms is about 50/50, hornworms about 60/40, crickets and supers are all he eats all the time. Sounds like you just might have a picky guy like mine

Once my chams get a taste of something (finally) they then know how it tastes and the next time I offer it, even if it just sits there, they shoot at it. It was hard to get them to shoot at the butter worms the first time, but now they like them even tho' they only get them every once in awhile.

If your butterworms arent moving, you should change suppliers. They are quite active larva, and will crawl up vines/branches.

Its possible she just prefers the taste of the soldier fly maggots over the butterworms.

My local pet store carries butterworms (thanks to much prompting from me!) but Periodically I still also order online from three or four different suppliers, Including the top 2 on the list here under Canada

teahc your cham "finger wiggle" everytime i wiggle my finger clair eat WHATEVER i hold up. i have a video of her shooting and eating a flower and iv got her to eat leaves, and many diffrent kidna of fruits.

everytime shes want to eat i finger wiggle first. than she learn that the wiggleing = food. this might help you with your chams eating.

None of my chams will eat them so you guys are lucky ive tried every trick
