Been a while since I posted but this just happened! After 14 months of incubation, this little one was waiting to greet me today! Two more have pipped! I have not been able to find any accounts of them being hatched in captivity before. If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. Thanks!

So cool! That first pic looks like someone woke him up from bed too early on a saturday and he is not pleased, lol. I'm gonna be sticking with common species until I'm a more proficient keeper, but it's so cool to see different chams, especially captive hatched. Are the parents both WC?

Thanks everybody. He was one of the spiciest hatchlings I’ve ever had to get out of an incubation container for sure. You can see a bit of it in the last two pics. That coupled with one of the most snubbed noses I’ve ever seen just added to the cute factor. These are CH from a wild mother and unknown wild father. I do have a true CB clutch incubating that was laid this year along with another that the female is taking her sweet time letting go of.

WOW! Such great news! Congratulations and thanks for telling us!

Love the attitude in that hatchling. Interesting to see how "he" develops.

Daaaaamnn looking good, they look exactly like parson :O they look quite big too, congrats mate.

Thanks! I may not post much anymore but I still believe this is the best platform for archiving and retrieving information on chameleons. The attitude you see in those pics was at about 3 and “he” could definitely turn it up to 11.

Congrats! What a huge deal. Thanks for posting! Did you do any humidity adjustments during incubation? What was your high temp? I’d love to be on your list for a youngster. Do you have any photos of the WC mother?

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!! Well done. Terrific job. This is one of the least commonly seen species of the Parsonii group in captivity. I have not heard of anyone outside of Madagascar hatching any kind of clutches from this species (CBB or CH) until this clutch. Again great job!

This clutch did require a diapause in the 50F's.

Best Regards

Thank you. I didn’t do any humidity adjustments other than having slightly vented incubation containers that were allowed to naturally dry during the cool period and topping the water off back up to the initial weight once it started to warm up again, which peaked at 75 during the day. I haven’t counted these eggs until they hatch, and likewise won’t be selling babies until they are proven healthy and strong, but I will be using the request on this thread and the ones pm’d to form that list so you’re on it already. I don’t have pics of the mother. She was presented to me as a special case from the importer. Egg bound when I received her and too weak for oxytocin or surgery, she crashed a week later. Eggs were salvaged post mortem. As sad as this story began, I'm so ecstatic that her story continues and for all that she’s taught us. If it helps though, I’ve only been interested in acquiring O’s that come in with males that have the blue gular pouch and the two green fat pads on the top of their head. Not sure if it’s a locality thing or within the natural range of variances, but I’ve seen some males that only have green eyes with a solid gray head that seems to continue further past their shoulders that I try to keep out of my breeding stock as much as possible.
