Cage Flooring Opinion?

Hey everyone,
So I've been a new owner of my 9 month old male veiled chameleon for about 2 weeks now and I'm having some difficulties with his cage setup. I have all the right things that I need but I'm having a problem with the whole flooring not absorbing enough water. I currently have a dripper for him to drink from but am planning on getting the automatic misting system tomorrow...the problem is that the cage is leaking water no matter how I set it up. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for this problem? I'm thinking that maybe a different carpet that absorbs more water may help but wanted to know the best kind?

Ideally you need the water to drain off, so a few holes in the bottom with a container underneath to catch the water is what most people do.

Yeah that is what I was planning on doing but for the time being I was wondering if there was a good kind of flooring that anyone recommended?

I just drill a hole on the floor then put the dragonstrand or lllreptile water tray! Then I use a turkey baster to take the water out! :)

What type of a cage do you have it in? Is it screen?

I used natural looking paver stones from lowes. I used 4 of them to cover the flooring,I just remove them when I clean, wheel the enclosure to my sink and run the faucet sprayer in the bottom of the enclosure to let all the waste etc rum down the drain to the bucket.

Yeah it is a screen cage but I actually added a cover on the 3 sides to keep the humidity in. I am planning on getting a bigger cage but for the time being I am going to try to drain system with just drilling the holes in the bottom
