I have a panther chameleon and i currently have a screen cage for him but i’ve been wanting to get a glass cage. i was just wondering if that’s a good idea or not

Hi. That usually depends on the climate in which you live. Areas with very low humidity do well with glass which hold the humidity in. Areas with high humidity, benefit from the ventilation of all screen. All glass enclosures usually aren’t large enough for an adult chameleon. For most, hybrid enclosures are a great choice. DragonStrand are fantastic quality hybrids and Tamura designs are probably the best out there. Both are sponsors. https://www.chameleonforums.com/sponsors/?tag=supplies There are some others, but I’m not so sure that they have the needed ventilation.

It mainly depends on the humidity and temperature control you will have in a glass enclosure. If the size is sufficient and you can keep the temp and humidity spot on then it’s a preference. If that all is not perfect, don’t do it.

Your not going to find a glass cage that will give you the space the Panther cham needs... I would go with a hybrid. Dragon Strand or Tamura Designs. Glass can work well for more experienced members and smaller species but it is a fine line thing where you really have to get your ambient levels perfect while having great airflow.
