Calcium questions

Hey guys!

I was wondering about calcium for my baby 3,5 month old Cham. I have only been able to find calcium with D3 and fluckers "high calcium gut loading" to gut load the crickets. Do you guys have a place where you get your calcium with no D3 and or do you have any ideas or the ther ways for me to get my Cham calcium?

Normally, pet stores don't sell it for some odd reason, and I'm fairly sure they dust with d3 at the stores. I found my jug of it at a family owned pet store. You can also buy a small size for $3.00 off amazon. That could be you best bet! Also remember to dust without D3 every feeding, with d3 twice a month, and multivitamins twice a month!

Try online like Amazon.com. They always have it. The high calcium gut-loading Flukers stuff; i've used it in the past but don't think it's really that good nutrition-wise. I would use it until you find a better gut-loading grain asap (available on this site in the form of Cricket Crack or Bug Buffet) but in the meantime, just feed your crickets foods that are high in calcium like Collard, Dandelion, Mustard or Turnip greens.

We've been dusting with D3 for three weeks now cause that's what we've been told by one of the people from FLChams, but then I read a couple of articles and found that it's wrong. Is it okay for a Cham if we switch right now? We're worried that we hurt him by dusting with d3.. What do you think?

Is it better to get a gut-loading grain? Or to gut load with high calcium foods like collard and etc? Or to dust crickets with calcium without d3?

You said "dust without d3 every feeding", so do we do that? Or do we gut-load crickets with nutritional/calcium things like kale and collard and etc? Or gut load them with grains? Or all of the above?

Also, what multivitamins do you use? I'm sorry for so many questions

Best to do both. Then the feeders will get a large range of vitamins and minerals.

At least two out of those 3 things is needed. All 3 would be optimal. I personally don't dust my live crickets with plain calcium because i free range them (let them loose in the chameleon enclosure - with food for the crickets at the bottom of the cage); i do however dust his superworms - which he gets 3 times a week.

Until you purchase a high quality gutloading grain, i would settle for gutloading with collards, etc at leasts 24 hours prior AND dusting your crickets with plain calcium. When you get the grain, utilize all 3 procedures; feed grain to the crickets, feed high calcium veggies to the crickets, and dust crickets with plain calcium.

I would stop the D3 supplementation immediately, because if you've already given it to him several times, he already has enough in his system to last him some time; it is only supposed to be given 1-2 times per month and anymore will build up in his system and eventually make his sick and kill him.

I use this one for calcium:

This for multivitamin (once a month)

Which high quality grain would you recommend? I heard that cricket crack is great. What do you think?
