calcium.

hi people. i really want to know if crickets are a good source of calcium. the lady where i buy them from said i dont need to put calcium on the crickets. these crickets are really fat and juicy. she said that they are already loaded with calcium so i dont have to put the stuff on the crickets. should i not put calcium on them or should i . HELP!

First of all dont listen to someone who doesnt keep or breed chams. They dont have any experience with them. And yes you need to supplement your feeders. Just because they feed their crickets with a calcium enriched dry feed doesnt mean you can stop dusting your chams feeders. In fact you need to make sure all your feeders are fed a balanced dry gutload like cricket crack and fruits and veggies.

100% agree with TPM. that store probaby thinks their crickets are prime because they feed it calcium dries. doesnt stay in their system too long.

yes, you need to dust crickets with a calcium supplement. Although crickets do naturally have some calicum in them (but it is less than phosphorous), and will get more if you gutload properly, you still want to dust lightly.
