I have a 7 month old veiled chameleon and I only got her yesterday , she has a heat lamp inside of her cage with a wire lamp cover around it , but she has climbed onto the lamp caging whilst her light is on , is this bad? and can it burn her?

Bad on both accounts. If the shield gets above 110F its going to burn after a min or two, and if she can get close to the bulb, thats going to be a vet visit. its best to put the lamp outside the cage and at an angle. if it has to be in the cage then you have to make it so the cham can not get to it, and cant get too near the bulb.

Why put the light at an angle? Would that not make the light so sideways and bug the chams eyes?
