I read from another member that Hibiscus rosa-sinensis can cause eye and skin problems, but never heard this before. I always thought they were the safest plants in the world for chameleons.

thanks.

not that i know of. maybe they confuse it with ficus.
we can even turn the flowers to tea to drink.

This is news to me as well. They are on the safe list of plants for chams..... Also beardies and tortoises and other reptiles will eat the flowers. I would be interested in any info if it does cause problems.

i thought ficus was on the safe plant list as well. What problems does ficus cause?

I think I am about to get an umbrella plant does anyone know if that is fine for chameleons as well? its on the safe plant list just wanting to make sure though :)

Ficus is on the safe plants list and generally safe in the chameleon cage.
If you break ficus branch, you should see there is milky sap coming out of the breakage.
That is the one that can cause skin and eye irritation to your chameleon.

Schefflera Arboricola (umbrella plants) is safe.
