Can i use branches at the top of a Reptibreeze enclosure?

I know ive to leave 12in from the top for t5 basking at the rear for basking purposes. But, can i go to the top with decor at the door entrance, ie away from the light?

Lets say, all the grasshoppers hang from the ceiling, there's no way of Figaro reaching them, even with his mighty long tongue! Just wondering.

Do you have photos of the cage?

Do you have a Solarmeter? The distance from UVB basking branch to UVB bulb depends on the strength of your bulb. My current bulb is around 15 months old now and I have the branch in the back at a distance where around 3"-4" above it (the top of the chams back) gets a 3.5-4.0 UVI.

I would add way more branches, vines, and foliage. The cham will thermo-regulate so if some areas are closer to the basking bulb than others, the chameleon will move to get warmer or cooler.

Ive ordered a huge ficus plant 90cms

Unfortunately he fell off the roof to the floor! He was lying a few inches under the light as close as he could get! Naughty man

I think I may see some tape in the enclosure you're putting together. Be sure to remove it before you transfer Figaro over (use zip ties instead). Tape can rip their scales and skin right off.

Ive used copper coated wire and twisted the ends tightly together!

He fell off the roof 4ft drop! He was right under the light!

He probably fell off because of lack of branches at the top and he wanted to get higher, but the screen couldn’t support his wait so he fell.

What are the temps at basking level? While babies do screen climb, it’s possible he was seeking more heat. He may also be seeking more height. Is why you need to raise your 10% uvb above the enclosure rather than trying to keep the cham lower.

tape is extremely dangerous to a chameleon so make sure its nowhere in your cage!

Im not using tape inside the cage. I guess there's nothing i can do to stop him climbing on the roof?

I ended up putting the foamex on the outside for ease of attaching it.
