Can O' Pillars as Chameleon Food?

Hey guys I'm a little new to the whole chameleon world and I did my research on how to care for one of these great Chameleons:D. So I got a baby Veiled. I have him in the great conditions!

Screen Mesh Cage
100 Watt Bulb
Reptisun 5.0 UVB
Exo-Terra Monsoon Misting System
Parlor Palm
Umbrella Tree
Dragon Tree
Branches
etc.

I need to know what I can feed to this little guy beyond some of the basic stuff. I know I normally feed him Zoomed's Can o' Crickets, Mini Meal-worms, and Super-worms dusted with proper supplements. I wanted to give him a great variety as I want to have him for a long time. So I came across a Zoomed product Called Can O' Pillars. I know your not supposed to feed chameleon wild caterpillars due to toxicity but Zoomed probably makes sure these are safe. I read that these are similar to Silkworms as Silkworms are caterpillars not really worms.

MAIN QUESTION:
So all I was wondering if I could feed Zoomed Can o Pillars to my Baby chameleon:confused::confused:? Thanks!!

Chameleons only eat moving insects, and some vegetation. Can o' pillars will be a waste of money.
You can buy variety from mullberryfarms.com, or look at my ad in the classifieds here, "8 feeders to make your chameleon happy"

Be sure that the basking temperature where the chameleon is next to the bulb is not too hot. You will need a temperature gun to measure this. Go to LLLreptile.com to buy one.

Your plants will need a 6500K flourescent plant light to survive indoors, or they will slowly die on you. You can add a fixture for this and get the bulb at a hardware store, or if your existing fixture is a double bulb, get the bulb and add it to your existing fixture.

Welcome to the forums, we are here to help you!

My baby chameleon has no problem eating "dead food" all I was wondering was IF he could eat it. Meaning is it toxic will it cause blockages ETC. Thanks for the responce Ill look into what you were saying:D!

Not sure how good those 'Can'O ' products are for Chams. I had a veiled in the past that recognized dead insects and would eat them, so i bought 'Can o Grasshopper'. He would just stare at it, but wouldn't touch it.

Personally, I would not feed my cham any sort of prepared, processed commercial foods.
If he is just a baby, try fruit flies, pinhead cricks, baby silkworms, stuff like that.

Also, 100W sounds like too much to me, I get temp readings of 86F using a 60W bulb in a reflective dome fixture at a distance
of 12'', in a all screen cage, with lots of foliage inside.

What are you using to monitor your basking temps?

Can you post a pic of your baby?

Please don't feed your baby that stuff.... If you want him to have a happy long life, he needs good live feeders. Hornworms, silkworms, dubia roaches, crickets, butter worms, wax worms, etc

That can stuff is terrible, and the nutritional value just isn't there like it is in live feeders.

we hang our Combo Deep Dome that holds 100 watt bulb about 18 inches from the top of the cage, and 8 inches until the foliage in the cage. The hottest part of the cage is NEVER more than 90 degrees, I measure with a digital hydrometer thermometer
