Countless of peope have told me that if a superworm is not eaten right it can eat it was out of whatever eaten it thus killing whoever had eaten it....i hope this isnt true!
HA!
That's one of my favorites!
Please disregard anything anyone who told you this tells you.
Their credibility is completely shot if they are passing this old wives tale along.
That's funny. It would really have to be a "SUPER WORM" to survive the hydrochloic acid inside a chameleon's digestive tract. This is not true, Brad is right, their credibility is shot if that's what they told you!
They're tough little guys.
I've had them live for days with a pin through them
or still be "fresh" after their heads are crushed (and moving!).
superworms aren't very friendly and they're survivors.
I had them a 10,000 count bag set on a bookshelf after a show
they ate through that fabric bag no problem and ran wild.
beware... they ate up parts of my book collection bookshelf and chewed pencils
right down to the graphite core.
I have no doubt that they could cause quite a bit of irritation to any cham
that swallowed a whole one by the time it's jaws got "soft" from digestion.
Since they're so cheap, I make sure they're damaged a bit before
being presented.
No sense to risk ANYTHING to a prized animal over something costing less than a penny.
They've eaten through the plastic container they come in from the pet store a couple times on me. Started finding Worm Pupae about a week later around the house.
